Truck Gun

Do any of you have a hand gun that you primarily use as a car/truck gun? If so do you leave it in there all the time, or do you take it inside once your done driving for the day?

I would not leave gun in truck all the time. I do have a pistol safe bolted to the floor, under the back seat, out of sight, when I have to leave gun unattended in certain situations.

You are responsible for your gun , and keeping out of the hands of others, I think left in truck is not a good idea. I do as little as possible, try to keep under my personal control as much as possible.

I use an old beat up P226 as my truck gun. It rides in a holster secured in a backpack with other emergency items I may need while on the road. This is in addition to my normal carry load. I leave this backpack in the vehicle for the duration of my time on the road, and I take it in the house when I return home since I don't feel 100% comfortable leaving a weapon in a vehicle outside. If someone decides to break into my truck, I'd hate to have them become so easily armed.

I never leave my gun in my vehicle. If I can not bring my firearm into a place, then I don't go there. Anyone can break into your vehicle anywhere.

I don't leave my carry weapon in my vehicle. I live in the middle of fields but you never know.

no. if someone steals my vehicle, i don't want to give them a bonus prize in addition.

i always carry, though, so there is always a gun in my vehicle (on my person) if i am in it.

i have a lock box mounted in my truck for just in case. i normaly wont leave a gun in the truck at all unless im traveling and cant take my gun into a place with me.

What he said...it's always with me, so no reason to leave a second gun in the truck...and I'd be to worried about rust and theft to leave it there if I didn't keep it with me

I have an old police Remington 870 hanging on the back window of my F150. I keep it there all the time whether I'm in the vehicle or not. I figure if anybody tries to break in my truck or steal they will see the gun and run for the hills.

Kinda like if they see a high-end stereo, or an open bag full of hundred dollar bills, huh?

I know that criminals are not the brightest bunch, but c'mon - afraid of a gun screaming "take me, I'm yours"?

Around here, nobody is so stupid as to be afraid of an unattended gun...
