Default 870 red dot, holo sight

    Hey guys/gals.
I have nearly finished my 870 for home defense project. I need just two pieces of flare to finish her. (When I do, gun porn for all!) One is a shell holder for my collapsing stock. The other is either a red dot or holo sight. Any suggestions as to either that will take the recoil of a 12 ga?

Any kind of high end stuff will take the shock from a 12 guage. EOtechs will for sure, but i think they mount too high for use on a shotgun, fortunately, bushnell makes a low mount holosight using the same technology, specifically for the 870

as for the side saddle, I wish i could take credit for this idea, but i can't. Best setup i've ever seen.

    For what its worth-

here is a quick and easy method for a sidesaddle that doesn't require tools at all, and costs very little.

    1. Industrial Adhesive backed Velcro from wal-mart, lowe's, etc...
    2. Tear-Off shotgun panels from www.specialforcesgear.com

First, degrease the receiver of the shotgun with whatever degreaser you normally use. next, use the hook portion of the Velcro and cut to size of the panel (there are 5 and 6 round versions, i used the 5.) let it sit for a while, preferably overnight. now you have a Velcro base for the shotshell panels you get from the above website. they have a piece of 550 sewn on them to aid in ripping them off. put several on your vest, and now you have a ton of shotgun rounds ready to go. when the panel is empty, rip it off the gun and slap a fresh one on there. you would think the heat from firing would soften the adhesive, but this is not the case, as the reciever does not get hot when firing. i personally fired a ton of ammo with this set up, and it never once came loose. If i remember correctly, the panels on the above website are made by SO Tech.

    Neato bandito!

I may have jumped the gun (no pun intended) and already put a mount on it... that bushnell looks like a similar mount, but with an integrated holosight.

As for the velcro deal... funny. Funny because I already have one of those velcro backed holders and never thought twice about it!
    Thanks Marc.

cool, make sure you use the industrial velcro. Much stronger adhesive. By the way, I prefer having my spare ammo on the receiver than on the buttstock in case i find it necessary to switch shoulders to pi a corner or due to injury.

Bushnell also sells the same low profile model that will just mount on rails, but i don't think it costs much less.

For my stock, I didnt go with either ATI or Knox.... expensive. I found a seller at the Harrisburg Gun Show selling Stock SHox. GREAT stock for the price. 6 position collapxible, pistol grip AND there is a shock absorber in the stock, for about an inch of travel total. Super product. Would recommed it to anyone.
