    Default .223 Ammo

My wife and I stopped into Double Action in Yeadon yesterday.
I was talking to the guy running the place and he told me that until further notice he was not able to get any .223 ammo.
He said it was all going to police and the military.

Has anyone else heard about other shortages locally?

I just picked up a case of Federal xm193 from Midway USA.

Ordered it last friday, arrived on Monday, and I didn't even have to walk into a gun shop to hear horror stories of 223 shortages.

While they may want more $$ for it, there is in no way a shortage. Buy your ammo online and save some mula, and cut out people who dont know what their talking about.

I'm going to say that store owner is looking at his cost of the ammunition and pre-judging the reaction of his customers at the ever increasing cost of that ammunition.

There is plenty of .223 out there but many are not happy at the cost of that ammunition.

I can get cases of new BlackHills .223.

The remanufactured .223 is on back order for the near future.

I just picked up several remanufactured Black Hills "blue box" 55gr FMJ at Gander Mountain Sunday....$9.99.......also picked up White box Win 5.56 Q for same price. They had plenty. Also, Bass Pro had plenty on shelves...........never seen a lack of 223 anywhere...

When I bought my AR today they gave me two Winchester 20 count boxes free, retail price was $8.99 a box. It was 5.56 but it's the same thing.

Not quite but its fine ARs chambered in 5.56. Shooting 5.56 in something chambered in 223 you can run the risk of blowing up the gun.

Yup!.....don't run 5.56mm in 223rem chambers....the 5.56 case is slightly thicker, and loaded to higher SAAMI pressures.

Some say it won't matter......but it will over time or even sooner.
