Girl Arrested calling 911: Your opinions

I've linked the video and was curious everyones take on the situation. Granted the girl has a foul mouth but reguardless does that make something less of an emergency?

I think it's bullshit. I have never been a 911 operator (I know there is at least one poster here who is though) and I'm sure there are times it's stressful. You have to know going into it that you're going to get people freaking out. You're going to get people in domestic disputes who are hot under the collar and flipping out because they want the police on the scene YESTERDAY or whatever.

Is verbal abuse ok? No. But we've heard MANY stories of 911 operators talking callers through situations and calming them down until help arrived. He verbally abused her from the start. He showed NO empathy and that's his JOB. Returning the abuse was wrong. He had to know it wasn't personal. And WTH didn't he answer the first time? Donuts? Sorry, can't blame her for freaking out at all. Young girl, dad seizing on the floor and asshole from 911....

Good lord, not another donut joke.

He may not have answered the first time because he was taking another call. It happens, we work desk all the time. You're on one call and have two or three lines ringing.

Disciplined and not allowed to handle the Emergency calls, or any phone calls for that matter. Totally unprofessional, can't take a cuss word, but yet he called her a bitch.

Bad situation, but arresting the girl? Now that is totally uncalled for. Well the press is all over it and everyone is on camera so public outcry is going to be all over the place.

Dont blame her in the least for her reaction. I would have been far worse if I was her with my laungage. I also dont blame her or her father for bringing a lawsuit against the guy.

I'm a little torn on this one: Part of me wants to side with the girl because I do think everyone panics differently but then it almost sounds like she wants to get into a heated argument with the 911 operator more so then trying to get help for her poor dad laying on the floor! One thing is for sure no matter what, the 911 operator should get disciplined for arguing instead of focusing on his job and if it was a real 911 call (which it sounds like it was) no one should be arrested.
