Anyone else notice that the NY law includes a ban on shotguns?
According to what I've read so far, the NY State AWB ban includes any of one (1) feature makes a firearm an assualt weapon.
One such feature, "threaded muzzle" makes a firearm an AW.
It does not specify that the threads must be on the outside of the barrel, or intended for a muzzle break, flash hider, or supressor.
This means that any shotgun with threads for chokes is now illegal in New York State.
Please someone tell me I'm wrong.
Skeet and Trap shooters that don't care about "black guns," you may have just gotten screwed if you live in NY.
If you live in MD, CA, MA, CT, NJ, or HI... you might want to start squawking now of you are a sporting clays person that didn't care.

Re: Anyone else notice that the NY law includes a ban on shotguns?
For what it's worth, I took this from another forum discussing the same thing and not the actual text of the law. However, it says:
A SEMIAUTOMATIC RIFLE THAT HAS AN ABILITY TO ACCEPT A DETACHABLE
MAGAZINE AND HAS AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERISTICS:
(I) A FOLDING OR TELESCOPING STOCK;
(II) A PISTOL GRIP THAT PROTRUDES CONSPICUOUSLY BENEATH THE ACTION OF
THE WEAPON;
(III) A THUMBHOLE STOCK;
(IV) A SECOND HANDGRIP OR A PROTRUDING GRIP THAT CAN BE HELD BY THE
NON-TRIGGER HAND;
(V) A BAYONET MOUNT;
(VI) A FLASH SUPPRESSOR, MUZZLE BREAK, MUZZLE COMPENSATOR, OR THREADED
BARREL DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE A FLASH SUPPRESSOR, MUZZLE BREAK, OR
MUZZLE COMPENSATOR;
(VII) A GRENADE LAUNCHER
So yes, it does point out threaded barrel, but it specificially states "rifle" and not "firearm", "long arm", or "gun".Sed ego sum homo indomitus

This is exactly what the Anti's Love, is people like this who think's anti gun laws won't effect them. What a bunch of narrow mined Idiots. Idiots who think their not included in this or that. "Well, I can't hunt with a semi-auto in My state, so whoo needs them",
First of all the Second Amendment has nothing to do with Hunting. I swear Americans have become totally worthless. Like a bunch of spoiled rich kids who have had everything handed to them. Just like the massive voter fraud that got this Idiot back in office. People ought to be raising Hell over this, but what do they do? Throw their useless hands in the air and proclaim, "Well, it's the Government, What can we do? YOUR THE GOVERNMENT IDIOT!! Vote these people OUT!!! Take back the Government. All it takes for Evil men like Obama to get away with Murder is for Good Men to do Nothing!!! Wake the Hell Up!!!!

Most of this legislation has one true purpose... to divide the gun community. Just made grandpappy's prized M1 Garand illegal..goddamn guys and their love affair with their damn AR15s, I'm cancelling my NRA membership because they took their side.
