To save everyone time reading through that, the best rust protection oils were:

-WD40
-Frog Lube
-Hornady One-shot

And the best lubricating oils were:

-Weapon Shield
-Corrosion X
-M-pro 7

Wow. I was going to do all that testing but now I don't have to thanks to that guy.

I think a lot of people put WAY too much thought into this topic.
There are guns around that have been in use for a hundred years that never saw a drop of modern "technology-lube".
Just lube that sucker with SOMETHING and your gun will outlast you.

I use all Hoppes products. I saw them recommended a LOT on here when I was in my beginner stage.

Not to distract from the thread, but has anyone actually followed through on the Hoppes recall for the "defective cap"?

I actually had mine leak out a little once...my solution...keep it upright. I also placed it in a ziplock bag as extra measure. I also keep my cleaning products locked up in an ammo can, so the kids aren't going to be getting into it.
