Condolences to our Philly members
With Michael Nutjob as your soon to be mayor I just wanted to take the time to express my condolences to you and suggest that you move as quickly as possible.
Lets face facts the antis own that city and you will be screwed by a Nutjob mayorality.

Re: Condolences to our Philly members
What's especially bad about Nutter is that, in addition to constantly pressing for anti-gun legislation, he's already stated he will use the current crime "crisis" to use various emergency (aka, police state) measures, like unconstitutional stop and frisk. Philly will become a police state within 4 years.
From Day 1, I've always felt my residency in Philly was in constant jeopardy from Philly pols. It seemed always just a matter of time before they found a way to ruin the city and turn it into another fascist RKBA-deprived police state city.
Well, I brought in my CCW renewal paperwork last Friday, so I get a fresh set of 5 years before the inauguration.

Re: Condolences to our Philly members
I don't know who. Given that "Parker v. District of Columbia" was essentially bankrolled by Robert A. Levy, a lawyer of means (see citation below) I can only hope that someone of like mind would be willing to take on the Philadelphia city govt. in it's illegal efforts to usurp the state's preemption and potentially impose martial law.

Actually if you read the history of the ACLU you'll find that it was founded with the idea of bringing a Socialist moore to the United States using the Constitution against the country by bending it to make it fit their ideals. This is about the same time that the "living document" definition of the Constitution began to come into vogue. It should surpise no one who has read up on the ACLU that they are anti-2A, you can't control an armed populace.

Sigh, it will be rough to lose Philadelphia to New Jersey… You guys should have fought to have a fence put in at the border.. Must be rough out there. Illegal immigrants AND New Jersey / New York to the north… The rest of us just have to deal with Mexicans
On the up side, you can always pray the rest of Pennsylvania wants to rescue that bell of liberty, or that people remember that song by Elton John, Philadelphia Freedom!Skeet is a sport where you are better to hit half of each bird then completely blast one and miss the other completely.
The choice is yours, place your faith in the court system and 12 of your peers, or carried away by 6 friends.

So long as the courts are able to operate, Martial Law can NOT be imposed. Habeas Corpus would still be in effect, thus a police state couldn't happen.
And if I remember correctly, only the Federal Government can impose Martial Law.
If Philly did indeed try such a thing, PA's own Supreme Court would shut them down.

Re: Condolences to our Philly members
The problem is that the statutes have various "emergency" powers, which will be abused -- to some degree. If only gunowners are harassed, maybe no one with standing will bring suit.
It could get bad for gun owners in particular, but not bad enough in general for the matter to get escalated the state SC. There's a whole lot of rather grody middle ground that can happen.
