Funny they didn't like the passport as ID.

They didnt ask the magic questions "Am I being detained?" "Am I free to leave?". Funny how they were giggling, though. I would have liked to see at least the ones not carrying refuse to provide ID.

I find it funny that its ok for a cop to defend him self against 4 small women with an AR15 but it should be illegal for me to own one.

"You don't any any other sort of ID besides a passport"? WTF? A Passport is one of the highest forms of ID. What an asshole this cop is.....I had to stop watching that.

He even asked for ID of someone who was not carrying.

That was my thought as well. A passport is absolutely the best form of ID.

Wow they really bent over and took it. They didn't ask if they were being detained, and they barely asked what crime they were suspected of having committed.

Passport is obviously a higher form of ID than a state DL.

And they also should have voiced Walmart's policy to abide by the carry laws of the state they're located in.

Open carry calls for a certain brazenness. Brazen behavior can be a sign of antisocial pathology. The carriers could have entered into a conspiratorial agreement to commit anything. And you call the officer power-hungry?

He could have approached with backup, all with guns drawn, had the carriers lie down with hands on head and relieved them of their guns and then determined what they were about, for everyone's safety....and been within the law.

The second officer was armed backup, muzzle-high, for the same reasons.

Easy to be a judge from an armchair, isn't it.

I don't have time right now to look up the citations (they're all over PAFOA), but I'm going to have to disagree with you. Courts have ruled that the mere act of open carry does NOT meet Reasonable Suspicion, and certainly not Probable Cause - plus, the best place for my gun for *everyone's* safety is in my holster, away from unfamiliar fingers. If I was treated the way you suggest I would be able to pay off my car, if not my house, by the time it was all over.

The officers could have also stayed back and observed before initiating contact. If the weren't breaking the law to begin with, there was no reason to treat them like they were.
