    Default Funny accidental OC day

I'm back home on leave from the sand box right now so I'm trying to get as much "fun" in as possible while I'm here.

I decided yesterday that I was going to hop on the 'Busa and take a ride down to Bucks county to visit some friends and maybe do a little shooting, this was around 5pm or so.
Now I knew there was a chance of rain, but I figured the sky looked good right, I'll be fine..............uhhh NO. Stopped in the WaWa on 309 between Q-Town and Allentown, younger clerk behind the counter, seemed extra friendly, several glances to the holster........couple of ladies coming in, held the door for them and got a smile or two.

I generally ride in just a shirt and jeans with a helmet and my shirt's are pretty long and cover my XD .45 quite well (owb left side) in a Galco. Silly me, I forgot that doing 70 on a bike tends to lift shirts..........so I tucked while riding. Get to Bucks county, hang out a bit and shoot the breeze, my buddy hops on his Buell and we take off for a short ride around Peace Valley, hit 313 and head our separate ways.

Just as I hit Quakertown the big guy upstairs decides I've been dry long enough.......within seconds I am soaked to the bone. I figure there's not much point in finding cover now.......and no I didn't have rain gear with me, no place to put it on the bike and I hate wearing back packs when riding. So coming up 309 I must have hit every light between 313 and I-78. I must have been quite the site, sitting on a bike in the pouring rain with a duty size pistol hanging off my hip. I got a ton of stares, a car passing me that slammed on his (actually it was a her) brakes and stayed behind me the entire way up, a couple of thumbs up and a lot of smiles. (think those were sympathy smiles for being so wet though)

Anyway, I generally don't OC, I prefer people to wonder, but I figured I'd share.

I think they oughtta ban those things...people get hurt on them.....

glad you had a good start to your ride...when I had my bike we still had the helmet law, so every time I rode in the rain at least my head was covered. That would sting like a Beeeeotch on your face I bet....

Stay safe, keep the sticky side down, and watch out for the Oblivions!

And thanks for your service! I know from experience you don't hear it enough
