    Default Remington 887

I am looking for "hands on" feedback on the new Remington M887 shotgun. I'm thinking of purchasing one and would like some knowledgeable imput. Thanks.

Just bought the Nova because I couldn't find reviews on the 887. I handled both and they are pretty similar.

I purchased the 887 and I love it. It aims well and doesn't have much recoil. This gun is tough as nails. The only complaint that I have about this gun is that because most of it is armorlokt, I very easily forget to wipe everything that is not, down. If you are interested in the gun, don't listen to the people that say it is ugly. Just because someone thinks it is ugly or seems like a toy gun doesn't mean the gun is cheap. Don't listen to them. The 887 is a reasonable priced reliable gun and it shoots 3.5". Mine has not jammed once on me and I've put about 500 rounds through it so far.

Is the 887 a cheaper version of the 870? I don't get it. Remington's website says the 887 is "armored" and weather-proofed. Wouldn't that make the gun MORE expensive than a regular 870? Just my curiosity.

My understanding is the design is different ... the 887 looked like a nice waterfowl gun when I was shopping around.
