    Default Walther P38

Maybe i missed it but i can't seem to find a thread about what is best to look for in a walther P38 i for whatever reason have this love of them they just have some great appeal to me.

so what do you look for in one i want it as a shooter so not waht makes it worth money but what makes it a good shooter?

    whats a good price?

    are they fun to shoot?

    As a shooter...
Look for a P1 with a fat slide and a reinforcing hex pin in the frame.
Why waste words. Go to the p38 forum, topic post war p38's and read the sticky posted at the beginning of the forum.
Gander Mt. has some, but be selective.

they'res really nothing wrong with either the war time '38's, post war '38's or the p1's.
if you're hot for one, you need not try to find one particular version. find one you can afford and be happy.
the post war '38s have been known to have a few issues, but they are fairly few and far between.
