Tim Benz resigns over gun comments?
Anyone else in the Pittsburgh area hear what exactly happened with Tim Benz today? I heard he quit on the air after throwing a bit of a fit over a LGS giving away an AR15, and telling a pro-gun listener he hoped Obama droned his family and took his guns.
This is all hearsay, I didn't see or hear any of it, just trying to piece together what happened. Benz is an idiot anyways, no big loss for Pittsburgh Radio.

I tell ya, liberals have to be one of the most violent groups there are. Seriously, they preach about anti-violence but are the first in line to cast a stone to push their agenda. WTF.

Re: Tim Benz resigns over gun comments?
If you have a FaceBook account look up Pittsburgh Tactical Firearms. That's the LGS that gave away an AR15 with 10 mags and 1000 rounds.
Summarized:
Benz made a comment (on 105.9 the X's FB page) on how this kind of 'protest' doesn't add anything good to the 'gun debate'. And a few other seemingly negative comments basically confirming he's an anti such why do think propel should own "assault rifles"? Etc...
He took a bunch of shit from listeners, basically stating that 105.9 just lost their business from Benz's anti-gun opinions.
Somewhere in the commenting Benz said something along the lines of(keep in mind these aren't direct quotes) "I don't need you listeners..." and something along the lines of "....I hope a drone strikes your house and kills you" Of course these comments have since then disappeared, although there are people who have screen shots of the exchange.
The former fans considered this a terroristic threat and reported his comments to the FCC.
And now I'm hearing he's "resigning".....
That's a basic summary of my understanding of the situation from FaceBook.

And to add more fuel to this fire.
Pittsburgh Tactical Firearms is now taking a bunch of flak from all sides for "getting Benz fired over expressing his opinions" and "what happened to the 1A?"

Yep, protects you from retribution and censorship by the government, not other citizens and private businesses.
Private businesses have the right to withdraw support from a show like his over comments just like the have the right to decide no one can carry in their stores.
