New Section - Protecting 2A rights

I was wondering if adding a new section under laws and politics would be warranted.

Here is the reasoning. We have many passionate gun owners on the site who are interested in protecting our 2A rights. However, I don't think that this often gets translated into effective action. We (me included) seem to spend more time being frustrated than taking actions that have a positive influence.

The forum would serve as a place for members to discuss and offer methods/techniques for making their opinion heard by public officials. It could also serve as a resource center to make speaking out easier. For instance:

1) Letter formats to contact state and federal legislature. Basically a formatted letter than someone can open, put the the reps info, type in a couple paragraphs, print, sign, send.

2) Key issue letters. If something important is coming up for vote a particularly eloquent member could draft a letter that people can just print, sign, send.

3) Resource links - other successful movements, useful statistics, etc.

4) personal experience, discussion of what members have done or are doing.

Just a thought.

i like this idea, i am not very good with writing and wording. and not very good with dealing with people who think they can take my rights away. so this would help me voice my opinion in a better more professional manner.

This is definitely one of the things we need to get organized. However all someone has to do is write up such a thread and we can sticky it at the top.

I plan on reorganizing the Politics section at some point.

I think what the OP means rather than having a sticky is having an entire new section for protecting 2A rights. It'll probably be easier for people to keep their thoughts on topic and more organized, imo.
