    Question Outdoor cats

Someone(s?) in my neighborhood leave their felines out and about. I find them sitting under my (and the wifeys') car all the time, and there are regular cat prints on my hood and windshield.

Obviously I can't shoot the cat with my a .22lr, but what options are there for encouraging the cats to spend their time elsewhere? (like the bottom of a creek)

(note: I am not a cat person)

#1 - get a dog - like a jack russel that will run up a tree after them, lol
#2 - get a crossman bb gun from walmart and shoot them with only a single pump (won't penetrate, but makes them run pretty fast)
#3 - cats hate water - get creative - sprinklers, super soakers, garden hoses - they realize when they aren't wanted pretty quick, lol.
#4 - borrow an old minivan, put some meat inside with side door open - when they all get in, run over and shut the door - take them a few miles down the road and drop 'em off - the further the better. (my dad used to do this and it worked quite well) see number 3 for ways to get them out once you arrive at their new home, lol.......... i too dislike cats - can't ya tell?

I like cats, but I hate cats that the neighbors let out.

BB guns, .22LR and poison lead to animal cruelty charges and lawsuits.

Stick with getting a dog or the super soaker, I've had cat problems in the past that a gallon of water solved quite well.

There are really no leash laws regarding cats IIRC, maybe get a live trap and bait with tuna and then contact animal control??

Buy or borrow a groundhog trap and bait it with some chicken. Then you can take it somewhere to shoot it easier...err, I mean take it to the pound.

Ok, might be time to get a super soaker.

That's a google image, but I'd say lettuce or some kind of veggies would attract them.

So...how come you don't like cats? I like cats; and I don't like people who don't like cats. I don't mind footprints on my car. I DO mind the neighbors' dog shit in my yard.

JACK: Greg, how come you don't like cats?
GREG: I don't not like cats, I just prefer dogs, I mean I'm just more a dog kinda- you know, come home and wagging the little tail, its happy to see you.
JACK: You need that assurance do you? You prefer an emotionally shallow animal?
    GREG:....I, uh...
JACK: You see Greg, when you yell at a dog, his tail will go between his legs and cover his genitals, his ears will go down. A dog is very easy to break. But cats will make you work for their affection, they don't sell out the way dogs do.

Our neighbor leaves her cats out all year. They piss on our cars and crap in our flower beds. I love cats and all animals in general, but sometimes I find myself driving faster into my driveway when I see on sitting on it. I have used water for the most part to chase them away. We also got a dog last year and that seemed to help a lot.
