I must have missed something, I could have sworn that those adjudicated mentally incapable were already prohibited. Maybe this will have some added conditions.

    Here's the major change:

§ 6105. Persons not to possess, use, manufacture, control, sell
    or transfer firearms.

    (some verbage snipped for brevity)

    (4) A person who has been adjudicated as an incompetent
1 or who has been [involuntarily committed to a mental
2 institution for inpatient care and] ordered to undergo
    3 involuntary mental health treatment
    under section 302, 303 or
4 304 of the provisions of the act of July 9, 1976 (P.L.817,
5 No.143), known as the Mental Health Procedures Act.

The phrase "ordered to undergo involuntary mental health treatment" is added in several other place dealing with apllication for license and issuance of license.

But, of note is that it appears here that the accusation of mental health problems is more important than the fact.

I see no place where the order is required by "competent authority" unless that is included in the mysterious section 302,303, or 304 above. Nor do I see anything allowing defense to charge of being "ordered to undergo... ." MOre interesting that that is what effect does this have on LEOs that are "required" (ordered?) by their department to undergo psych counseling if they're involved in a shooting?

I see no protection for anyone "ordered" to get psych treatment for depression or any other condition that would not render them incompetent or a threat.
