    Thumbs up Updating Gun Permits

I was wondering if anyone knows the rules and laws on the following issues I have. I moved from NJ to PA recently and I have three hand guns. My permits show me as the owner of the guns with my old home address. Do I need to get these permits updated with my Pa. address? and if so how do I go about doing this. If anyone can advise me on what to do please let me know.

    Thanks

    Greg V

welcome to the land of the free, you need no permit to have hand guns or guns of any kind (except for nfa) you may also carry decent defense ammo. Enjoy your freedoms once again

Permit to own or possess? No such thing here..

Your guns that you brought into PA require no actions. If you interested in carrying, get a LTCF. Even if you aren't going to carry, a LTCF will exempt you from the law if you happen to forget your guns in your vehicle after going to/from a range or gunsmith.

I would hold on to the old permits to prove ownership incase you have an encounter with PPD. There is no gun registration in Pa but police like to check the PSP sales records to determine who purchased the gun. If your gun doesn't show up on the database they may sieze (illegally) the guns until ownership is confirmed.

Now that you have 2A rights again, you should get a LTCF and carry one of them with you. I know the idea of carrying your pistols outside of your home may seem a little "odd" but you can do it here in Pa.

    Welcome to the forum.

The first time you carry will feel real odd, very odd. For me I felt like every eye was on me. The gun (an XD-9) felt like it weighed twenty pounds and was so big it could not be hid.
