    Default I've created a monster

I plan on taking my 11yo on her first hunt deer hunt this year. Since it has been a while since I have gotten to spend any real time hunting I figured I would go the first three days myself and take her Saturday, and if we are unsuccessful, the last Saturday of the season.

She called me this morning at work to ask why she wasn't going hunting with me. Apparently she looked at the calendar and saw that she has off opening day and started crying because she thought she was being punished. I just didn't want to take her out of school for two days, and/or drive two hours to bring her home, and drive two more hours to get back to camp for Tuesday.

    What have I done?

LOL - My daughter was begging to shoot with me yesterday. I let her shoot the .38....she was about 2" off bullseye at 10 feet. She's 6. I was smiling the whole time

I always use the first day for the kids, but do not go far so they can be back in school on Tuesday. Alot of time we don't see much, but it is quality time with the kids that will be different each year.

I take Tuesday as my day. That is when I do my real hunting, which includes a hike up the Blue Mountain.

Take the kid and put the quality time in the memory banks when you are no longer able to go. It will be worth it.
