Automobile title fee for Pa.?

Just curious -- what should I expect to pay as a title fee when purchasing a new car? ~$100?

According to PennDOT it's $22.50 but I don't know what you will pay at a dealer.

It's going to depend on the type of vehicle. My old truck was around $60 and the new truck is a Class 2 weight and I think that was more.

Either way, under $100 but the dealership will have lots of other fees to tack on there. I just bought a truck and can dig up the paperwork if you want.

I ran a couple of dealerships and you normally pay 63.50 for tag work if you need a new tag. 55 doc fee and then you have online reg fee of 22.50 and 15.45 for a dealer fee. 4.oo notary fee. I normally tell people to average it out at around 108-185.00 depending on if you are transfering getting a new tag.

On-line Registration $10 (we are able to print your owners card the same day)
PA Tire Tax $1/ tire (only on new cars)
Document Fee $120 (Maximum just upped to $120 from $100 as of 1/1/09)
The Doc fee is set by the dealer and is used for overnighting the paperwork and all of the notary fees associated with completing the forms.
