    Default taurus tracker

does anyone have a taurus tracker 357 mag?

found one in my local shop today. put money down on it. i kinda have a collection of 357's. this is an unfired new in box. $340.00. put in on layaway.

i now have a colt trooper, dan wesson, desert eagle, ruger, smith & wesson, and now the taurus.

I do't have alot of experience with Taurus Revolver.
From my limited experience, most Taurus wheel guns are:

Made very well(as far as cylinder lock up and stuff goes)
Fit of rubber grip to frame is not the best. But certainly works.
DA trigger is heavier then that of my S&W's, but somehow, my Taurus 651 is MUCH easier to stage, even tho its heavier

    You'll like it overall.
I paid just over $300 for mine, and shoots good and easy to conceal.
May not be the best, but certainly great buy for the price.

    Got one...a great revolver!
    One of Taurus's best, IMHO.
Sounds like a damn good price too!

If you buy it, try to get 200-300 rounds through it ASAP. If there are any problems, you'll probably see them during that break in.

I used to just recommend this for Taurus..but reading here and other gun forums...I'd say that applies to any gun from any manufacturer.

I've got a 4" Taurus Tracker in .357. My only complaint is that the nice orange part of the front sight is actually a decal that will peel off the first time you get solvent on it. Not a big deal, I just got some sight paint and did it right. Other than that, it is one of my favorite pistols.

I hear alot of people talk bad about taurus, because its "Brazilian" made.
You know the type - that hang up on manufacture of firearm, rather then actual quality of gun.

When i got my Taurus, i hear people tells me that "o its taurus, its like saturday night special", "o, why don't you buy Colt(or Smith&Wesson)?"

While I like Smith&Wesson stuff, I do have to admit - My Taurus IS much easier to stage the trigger then that of my S&W...

Every Taurus revolver I've ever fired has had a rougher trigger than most any S&W I've shot. I find it much harder to pull smoothly through the Taurus trigger, than I do on a S&W.

I've never had a problem staging a S&W trigger, I find it next to impossible with Taurus's.

Brazilian or not (so are SA's 1911's...they work well!) the internals on the Taurus guns are not as smooth, and they bind up much more frequently than S&W's do. This also contributes to the grittier Taurus trigger pull.

i have a 4" tracker .357 but in the titanium. its so light it almost seems fake!
other than that, its a solid gun with a nice lock-up. the 7 round capacity is also a nice touch.
overall a great gun - too bad i dont have the time to shoot it more
