Default French Berthier, what's it worth

I have one idential in appearance to this one:

except it is missing its firing pin and is probably not safe to fire even if it had a firing pin. it's the ugliest damn thing I've ever seen and isn't of much collector value to me, what can I expect to get for it?

Go to www.surplusrifleforum.com and scroll down to the french section. Post the question with as much detail as possible, even pics if you have them.

Well. seeing my name here is Frenchy, and my Last name is Bernier, (close) It could have been worth more if it had MY name on it
Still Interesting, tell me what they give you for prices, might make a good fireplace decoration.

ironically it was part of a lamp that was right beside a fireplace. the lamp kinda disguised it.

honestly it's ugly as hell but has some collector value, how much I'm just not sure yet. if you're into hanging ugly stuff over your fireplace we'll talk

I'd rather hang a nice levergun or a Garand over mine.

I have no idea how much it's worth but I am sure that the bore and action are probably close to 100 percent as I doubt it was shot.
I was possible dropped twice, once in WWI and once in WWII

traded it for $200 towards a Ruger SP-101. can't complain considering it was missing its firing pin, numbers didn't match and would have been unsafe to shoot even with a firing pin. my dealer bought it for his personal collection because he had never seen one. good riddance
