Question Sale of Rifle to buyer from NJ??

    Hey all-

Im selling a .22 rifle and a man from NJ wants to purchase it. I dont know how/if it can be done. I know handguns are off limits, but im not sure about rifles/shotguns. Could anyone give me some insight? Thanks

Has to go through an FFL. I think it has to be done in NJ, not sure about that though. Someone else will have more info soon enough.

It needs to be done through an FFL.
The new Jersey buyer must have a Firearm Purchaser Id. Card and fill out the N.J. Certificate of Eligibility.
The Certificate of Eligibility is a N.J. form. It can be downloaded from the N.J. State Police website.

If you're not shipping, meet at an FFL close to the border that knows what to do with NJ buyers. An FFL in PA will likely have a cheaper fee. Tanner's comes to mind as a shop that has a lot of customers from NJ so they are familiar. As previously mentioned, the buyer must have the FOID beg for permission card.

Be careful, knowing the Socialist Republic of New Jersey I could see them doing a sting to expose the over the border "loophole".
