That ban has been around for 10, 15, or more years now. No non-sporting semiauto's are allowed to be imported, an even stricter ban on Chinese and Russian semi-auto firearms and ammo.

Even if we could get all of those gun owners to write and repeal the ban do you think that the price will stay at $399.00? This fee, that fee, excise tax, a couple of distributors and middle men will raise it to $600-800!

    No kidding..

I'd sell a lung, kidney, two testicles and a brain for a M14/M1A.

lol, yeah... starting at $2700 and up. Thanks, but no thanks..

Unless its a Colt Python or Walker(original), or some fine European double rifle/shotgun - I wont pay more than $1K for a single firearm, and $1K is a stretch.

you know they had a problem with the receiver castings being too soft?
within a few thousand rds, the receiver was shot.

Nope. Congress doesn't control importation, the President controls importation through BATF(E). This is one of the very few instances where an import ban did us a favor. And the President really isn't intended to answer directly to us, but that gets into the who electoral college thing and I've posted enough about that topic already.

The Chinese M14 copies aren't USGI, the only noteworthy aspect are the receivers are considered to be very good.

Suggest you consider a homegrown M14 if you're thinking about a '14. They're very well made, even the (gasp) non-Springfield brands.
