    Default Gun Virgin No Longer

Took my wife to the range today to shoot for her very first time. I got her a Beretta Neos as her first gun. She was raised in the city, never shot, and had a fear of guns. I was raised in the country and have been shooting now for 53 years - started at age nine.

She is no longer afraid! She loved the Beretta and was putting them in a 2 inch group at 10 yards by the time we finished. Now she is online reading about shooting. She said she really liked it, had a good time, and loves that we can do it together.

    It was a good day!

Just got her a red dot for the Beretta. Should be fun. She now is asking me about shotguns and trap. I think she got the bug. Oh, did I mention her competitive streak? I put 10 out of 10 into the center on my last mag. She then focused and was bearing down to do the same on hers. I loved it. BTW - the Neos is a fun and very accurate pistol. Best Memorial Day in many years for me.

She said we should have taken her photo. Next time for sure.

Sounds like a great time, always fun to go shooting with the wife. Many a people have been converted from a little 22lr.

PS: Be excited now for when you see how much your ammo bill rises it will dampen the mood.

Don't think I'll have a choice. The range is only 10 min at most from our home and she is a member.

Wonder if she'd like to learn to reload? Hmmmmm!

Good for you! I introduced my girl to shooting and hunting early last year, and she also became very much into it. I don't know who was more proud when she took her first deer last fall, me or her. I was doubly impressed when she field dressed it herself then after watching me butcher mine she did hers basically on her own, then when I killed another one she also took over the butchering! She is completely into the shooting sports and hunting now, and I really enjoy being able to share it with her!

I'll bet if you set up a system she'll be right there with you. Especially if you show her the difference in the cost of shooting reloads vs factory.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.
