New LCP Broke at round 60
Didn't really realize it was broke until after I got home and went to clean it...
Just bought it a day ago and had no issues until now.
Hammer is cocked back, wont fire, trigger has rebound but no pull...nothing rattles but something is obviously broke.NRA RSO, NRA Certified Instructor, Glock Armorer

I hope this is a fluke, as I was looking to get one of those.
I'm sure they will make good on it though.

Re: New LCP Broke at round 60
Here's a thread from the Ruger forum noting a known problem with a range of LCP's. Broken trigger pivot.

I found the trigger bar dislocated from the trigger. I managed to get it back on but only lasts about 5 pulls before it slides off again. You can clearly see the frame bend outward on each trigger pull.

Sent mine back to Ruger two days ago. Broken trigger pivot after 13 shots. Call them, ask for customer service. They pay the postage to and from. I'm sure they realize that something's out of whack if this is becoming a repeat issue. We'll see what happens. I'll keep you posted.
PlinkerMy dog "Ruger" is worried about the economy because Alpo is up to $3.00 a can. That's almost $21.00 in dog money.
Pray for our troops....and a little extra for our snipers.

Re: New LCP Broke at round 60
Shoot, every time I'm about ready to buy one of these I hear about problems...
Guess I'll wait awhile longer.
Judging by the post and pics on the other forum, the part that breaks looks like it's cast metal... I'm not surprised that this poses an issue... I'd suggest to Ruger that they upgrade to a fully-machined steel version, leastwise on that particular trigger pivot. Sure, it's more expensive to do it that way, but this problem is becoming a bit too widely reported, and all that shipping back and forth has to be eating into profit anyway.
If it were me, I'd gladly pay $10 or $20 more for the upgrade, assuming it was available... perhaps here's an opportunity for a third-party machine shop?
