    Default sharing carry pistols

My wife and I both hold a CCW permit in Pike County.

My question is this. Can we carry each others pistols without a problem? She owns a Smith & Wesson model 60. But, has decided that she like my S&W 3913 TSW alot more for carry. Will this become a problem if a police man or such stops her?

    Thanks
    John

    Yes. Perfectly legal.

Ref: § 6115. Loans on, or lending or giving firearms prohibited
§ 6115. Loans on, or lending or giving firearms prohibited.

by mortgage, deposit or pledge of a firearm, nor, except as
provided in subsection (b), shall any person lend or give a
firearm to another or otherwise deliver a firearm contrary to
    the provisions of this subchapter.
    (b) Exception.--
    (1) Subsection (a) shall not apply if any of the
    following apply:
    (i) The person who receives the firearm is licensed
    to carry a firearm
ETA: Additionally there is no paperwork needed for a transfer between spouses. So even without LTCF you can transfer " ownership " should she desire to requisition your gun

    I concur..

"transfers" between spouses don't require any paperwork. And also its legal to loan a "firearm" to a person that holds a LTCF.

Husband and wife, yes, but are you sure about this. You would be carrying a gun thats not yours. Sounds like a lot of explaining this down at the 'station'.

I remember reading, IIRC on opencarry.org, a story about a gentleman in PA who had moved here from California, and brought his pistol with him. He was stopped for some reason or another, and the LEO decided to run his pistol's serial number through the PSP's illegal sales registry. Unsurprisingly, there was no PA sales record. I know the pistol was seized, though I don't remember how much legal trouble the gentleman needed to go through in order to reclaim it.

Moral of the story: there should be no distinction about who's gun "belongs" to who, legally, but because of the illegal PSP registry, I wouldn't be surprised if future issues were to come up.

Moral in general: it's better to be judged by twelve than carried by six.

My firearms are all bought in Pa. from different FFL's and are all legal.

The LEO and his chief were idiots, both of whom have no working knowledge of PA gun laws. I do believe he eventually got his gun(s) back, but only after getting an attorney involved and even then the chief tried blowing off the attorney.
