1911 grips
I have been looking for grip for my 1911's - My SA loaded, and Colt commander(Still i n layaway tho).
I've been very much interested in grip made with desert iron wood, and Afzelia burl wood, but can't find anyone selling one. wickedgrips.com is all sold out, and I'm not sure who else sells them.
Anyone can point me out to right direction?Audemus jura nostra defendere

Re: 1911 grips
I have some kiln-dried Pennsylvania White Ash burl left that I used to make a set of grip stocks for my Springfield 1911A1 Mil-Spec. I never made stocks for someone else, but these came out good. I have a large-ish hand so these are a bit heavier stock ,3/16" thicker each side. I also have ready access to other species of Pennsylvania hardwoods.
I preferred to leave the blemishes in for character but stabalized them with cyanoacrylate. If your grip stocks are identical to the Springfield, I can duplicate them, or if you send me the factory stocks, I could make a set to match. I can't match the blemishes to these, or guarantee no blemishes. I can book-match the stocks or have each side unique like I did with these.
I know it took me about 4-5 hours to make these. If I just add something for the materials, they would be about $125 for a pair (with my first customer discount). Your choice of finish. Just give me a couple of weeks to make them if you want them

Re: 1911 grips
Wow! Those are sharp looking. Can you make them for other handguns, or just 1911s right now?
