Default FN SCAR hits the market

finally... however they are already popping up on gunbroker in excess of $8,000.

I'm really hoping these make it it to the market in some type of affordable fashion and soon, as well as the SCAR variants from other vendors. The AR has come a long way, but a whole new system built from the ground up with so many standard features sure stirs my interest.

I've seen them going for $3500, still not worth it in my opinion. I don't need to feel cool THAT bad. Maybe if they drop below 2K we'll see.

The concept is very appealing but unless the .mil adopts it as std issue, it'll end up going the way of the HK G36.

i feel the same way. under 2k is a reasonable price for a semi-auto weapon.

    Good point.

Personally, I found the G36 controls to SUCK, hard. While it is SUPER reliable, it just sucks to opperate.

I see the SCAR fixing that problem. I'd still rather have a Masada/ ACR though.

    What, no Scar 17?

Personally I like FN, but I think the Scar is ugly and way overpriced. Some people are willing to pay outrageous amounts to use what USSOCOM uses, but I am not one of them.

$8,000... you're into some NFA guns territory for that price.
