AR ejection direction
I have two AR's, a 16" carbine and a 20" AR. The uppers look rather identical and so do the bolts and extractors. My carbine always ejects the spent casings forward. Anyone else have an AR that ejects the shells forward instead of back? Anyone know why it does this?

Re: AR ejection direction
Hmmm.
A2 brass deflectors on the uppers? Carbines have a little more violent ejection because of the shortened gas tube.
Maybe the carbine ejects the spent cases a little harder and they bounce forward off of the deflector.
