    Default who carries a taurus?

so i'm looking at a pt111 or a pt140 to for a new carry gun. i haven't heard of any big problems with them, and the problems i have heard of taurus took 100% care of for the customer. they seem like nice little guns for a pretty darn good price.

just wondering what you guys thought of them with your personal experience

I have had a PT101AFS in 40 cal now for about 8 months.. and I love it... heavy to carry but that also helps keep the muzzle climb down to almost nothing.....

and not a problem with it...

There is also a Taurus forum that might interest you ... lots of good people there also....

I dont carry one. I just put money down on the 1911. I have heard mixed reviews about taurus Costumer service. I dont own a Taurus so I couldnt tell you. I look at it this way. No matter what a company does eventually someone will bitch about it. If you make that many guns then you are bound to have a couple lemons.

I carry a PT1911 for a couple of years now. I have had zero problems with it. Mine is blued and I have heard some say the finish is thin but you can't prove that with my gun. I got mine for about $550 out the door and think it's one of the best bargains (even now) on the handgun market. I'm looking to buy a stainless PT1911 in the future. My experiences with customer service was very good, although minor:

    1. I was banging off magnums in my 669 and didn't notice the rear sight screw loose and lost the rear sight. My fault. I had the gun 6-7 years when this happened. Sent it in and got it back in about 2 weeks.

    2. I carried a PT99AF (adj sights) on duty for about 5-6 years (had to stop as firearms policy changed). The rear sight leaf cracked some time after this. Once again a 2 week turnaround.

    3. I lost a spring on my 6" stainless 357 (can't remember the model #). I called them and they said they'd send me one. A month later I called again and got one in a few days. A few weeks after that I received the one they originally sent (it was postamarked the day after my first call so it was the Post Office's fault not Taurus).

My Model 85 (since 1988) and my PT1911 have never needed anything.

I carry a 145 pretty often. Its a new model with the SA/DA trigger and its got a few thousand rounds thru it and it loves +p. I have never had 1 hiccup out of it and I shoot it very well , I love mine and would not hesitate to buy another one , have thought about getting a 9 as well but now I look at the 845 and am really liking that too.

I carry a PT1911. No problems, very accurate, and I love this pistol.

I`m thinking of getting rid of one of my PT145`s and getting a PT709 when they come out this quarter.

I sometimes carry a PT1911, but I usually carry a stainless Ruger P89 (only because it is stainless and more durable to CCW conditions!)

i'm a member of the taurus site. i'm pretty new there and don't know how bias they are toward tuarus, which is why i posted here as well. i pretty much heard what i wanted to hear. everyone seems happy with their taurus', and am I with my 66. i think now i have to decide whether to get the 9 or the 40.

    thanks guys
