Default 1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized After Walmart Parking Lot Shooting in Lehigh Valley

A woman died and another person was hospitalized after a gunman opened fire in the parking lot of a Walmart in Lehigh County on Friday evening, police said.

The shooting occurred just before 7 p.m. outside the superstore on MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township, District Attorney Jim Martin and Whitehall Township Police Chief Michael Marks said in a joint press release Saturday. Both victims were found near a parked car with the engine still running.

The woman, who has not been identified, died of gunshot wounds to the body, the county coroner said. Her death was ruled a homicide.

I've been to that Walmart. They have been very good about obeying the Coca-Cola directive.

We were just across the street from that Walmart this afternoon at some other stores, although we were home long before any activity started (edit: just realized this happened last night, not today. Reading comprehension a bit off)

I work not far from there and have been in that store a number of times although not in the past year at least. The clientele is your usual "people of walmart" parade of characters

Edward Joel Rosario-Jimenez, 23, was charged Sunday with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide and aggravated assault as well as a firearms offense, Lehigh County prosecutors and Whitehall Township police said.

According to officials, one witness told police she had gone to the Walmart parking lot to pick up her child who is also the child of one of the shooting victims.

The witness told police she arrived in the Toyota with Rosario-Jimenez and two other people and that Rosario-Jimenez got into an argument with one of the victims. The witness told police she heard gunshots and left in the Toyota, but Rosario-Jimenez remained in the parking lot.

Another witness told police they saw Rosario-Jimenez fire several gunshots at the victims, according to police.

Police say a handgun was found hidden in a snowbank adjacent to where the shooting occurred.

WALMART is like WAFFLE HOUSE - you know what the clientele is always gonna be like, so prepare accordingly.

Before the perp was named, I would have bet my paycheck that he was from a US territory in the Caribbean (most likely via Brooklyn) that the dems want to make into a state.

There are absolutely cultural attributes that can be observed over time. We can use experience to make guesses about the perps when we read about women who use knives on their husband's genitals, about a dozen or more people involved in a fistfight at a Chuck-E-Cheese kids party, about a mob of 20 teens swarming a 7-11 and looting and vandalizing. It's not "racial insensitivity" to notice what any statistician can prove. For whatever reason, the differences in unwed births between various ethnic groups are extreme. The murder rate differences are extreme. Some ethnic and cultural groups in America just have vastly more negative habits than others, and we'll never understand why, or fix the root causes, if we're not allowed to talk about the end results. Banning guns won't do squat to address most of these issues. Blaming white people for a 75% illegitimacy rate among black women and black men is just stupid. Blaming racism for our prisons being disproportionately filled with the people who commit crimes is just inane.

There's not one person in America who seriously says "crime has really gone up since the local Walmart customers all became white."

And I say again, crime is at the margins. We have 330 million people and about 10,000 homicides per year, so it's not like 45 million blacks are killers. In fact, of 45 million blacks, about 45 million killed nobody, ever. Much like guns, if the only time the media mention them is in relation to a crime, then we'll all be misled.

It's just that killers are much more likely to be black, with half of all murders committed by 12% of the ethnic mix. At the same time, half of the population is male, but we account for 90% or more of all violent crime. These things are just true. It's a shame that nobody complains about a 90-10 mix of men to women inmates, but they use the same kind of disparity as "proof" that prisons are racist. If the criminal justice system isn't anti-male sexist, then it's not racist, and for the same reason.
