Default So what's up with this 6 lane highway in the middle of nowhere?

Around the 210 yardstick on the turnpike just east of the double hole in the wall? The turnpike constructed extra lanes to create a 6 lane highway in the middle of what I consider no-where, I don't get it. Anyone know something I don't?

The whole thing should be 6 lanes. The two lanes each way are outdated with all the traffic.

I agree, every trucker you talk to complains how tight the turnpike is.

Just seems odd to have a 6 lane no where near an exit or a major innersection. Instead they should have spent the money on a new innerchange that connects the turnpike to I-81 rather than having to deal with Rt15 and the several lights and traffic just to get from one interstate to the other. Even Breezewood sucks, those red lights I swear are atleast 10 minute waits.

    Construction...

to facilitate a favorable travel experience when using Pennsylvania's Turnpike system.

This five-mile-long total reconstruction project is located midway between Blue Mountain (Exit 201) and Carlisle (Exit 226). Construction consists of the total reconstruction and widening of the Turnpike to six lanes between Milepost 210.9 and Milepost 215.3. In addition to the new roadway, three overhead bridges will be replaced along with the replacement of two mainline bridges.

This construction is part of the Commission's goal of rebuilding the Turnpike between the Blue Mountain Tunnel, MP 200 and the Carlisle Interchange, MP 226.

Any trucker that calls the PA pike tight should turn in their CDL. Most of my career has been tanker and hazmat so between the cost of the pike and not being able to go through the tunnels with hazmat I`ve always had to run the humps across 22.

Look how many decades 222 was the road to no where. After all these decades it actually goes some where.

It's a landing strip for Airbus jets. In case Obama needs an invasion force from the EU to establish order.

I respectfully refer to those people as Left Lane Loungers. Just taking their sweet time in the fast lane.

I vote that we allow the use of 2 warning shots for the "Left Lane Loungers", as the High Beams, Horn, and "Your #1" Finger no longer work.
