Default Makes me glad I live in PA!

Has anyone seen this NY Times piece?

    http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/20/ny...guns.html?_r=2

Apparently you have to be someone special in New Yuck to own a gun, let alone carry one ...

$340 for a lisence and $100 for finger printing!! OMG that is asinine!! and authorization from the police for the particular weapon you intend to buy. Gotta wait 90 days inbetween purchases! This makes me happy I live in PA too!!

“I don’t believe people should be allowed to have guns in America,” Ms. Stewart, daughter of Martha, said in an interview, explaining that she bought a .357 Magnum after 9/11 — but would be happy to give it up if handguns were banned. “Having a swimming pool is way more dangerous than having a gun,” she added.

WTF is that about? She is an ass.

She had a typical kneejerk liberal reaction. Bought a gun after 9/11, but no idea why she bought it.

I agree, pools should be banned, let's get a bill in the senate to do that. See how many liberals would be up in arms so to speak to defend their right own a pool.
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

And that is just to own the gun and keep it in your house. Carrying is a whole other issue.

More people (children and adults) die from pool accidents then gun accidents.

With the permit requirements and liability issues they almost are.

I guess she feels confident in her ability to use her bare hands fend off an attacker who is armed with any weapon regardless of the size and/or drug induced condition of said assailant.

She bought a .357 Magnum after 9/11. WHY? Does she think she could spot a terrorist attack and stop it with a handgun?

Typical knee-jerk reactions all around. I'd be willing to bet that she isn't properly trained in the basics of firearm safety and has very little if any confidence in her ability to use it against an assailant.

I don't have a short temper, I just have a quick reaction to bullshit.
