Fort Ligonier Cannon Replica
I just wanted to show you guys a replica cannon that my Dad just gave me. He got it from Fort ligonier (Ligonier, PA) in 1958 at the Fort's 2nd Centennial celebration! It is made from cast iron and brass. I played with it when I was little and now he passed it on to me for my kids to play with, but I said...noooo, I think we better put up up on the display shelf! And they were cool with that...
It has a small brass plate on the caisson hitch that says "Fort Ligonier - 1758" My Dad was 10 years old when he got it. I didn't even dust or polish it. Still undecided on whether or not to clean it up...it looks good the way it is! So anyway, here are the photos...click the thumbnails for full size pics.
Here are a few more...sorry about the low light photos, it is late and I didn't feel like setting up the camera fu lighting pods!

Re: Fort Ligonier Cannon Replica
My Dad can't remember, but he thinks it actually shot those carbide charges or something. It does have a hole in the breach for a touch off or a fuse.
