CeaseFirePA Announces its Mayoral Recommendations
As I've mentioned in other threads: research, research, research.
I've also not been a huge fan of endorsements, but here's an interesting one to help you know thy enemy...

Gun control group CeaseFirePa endorsed Luke Ravenstahl's reelection bid today. Here's the press release:
After press conferences announcing the endorsement of two mayoral candidates-Harrisburg City Council President Linda Thompson and Lancaster Mayor Rick Gray-CeaseFirePA is releasing the full list of its endorsements of 12 mayoral candidates in key races across Pennsylvania. Each of the mayoral candidates has taken a leadership role, standing up for local efforts to pass commonsense reforms to reduce access to illegal handguns. CeaseFirePA's endorsements of candidates for mayor in twelve Pennsylvania cities and towns is the latest step by the state's largest gun violence prevention group to provide elected officials and citizens across the Commonwealth with an alternative voice to the gun lobby.
The list of CeaseFirePA-endorsed candidates:
* Munhall - Mayor Raymond Bodnar
* Homestead - Mayor Betty Esper
* West Homestead - Mayor John Dindak
* Lancaster - Mayor Richard Gray
* Oxford - Mayor Geoff Henry
* Allentown - Mayor Ed Pawlowski
* Pottsville - Mayor John Reiley
* Erie - Mayor Joe Sinnott

Re: CeaseFirePA Announces its Mayoral Recommendations
I hadn't realized that CeaseFirePA was so racist. They seem to want to limit access to guns anywhere that has a high percentage of blacks or Hispanics.
Interesting. I wonder if, like most "progressive" groups, their members also encourage access to abortions for unwed black women?
Using the "disparate impact" test, CeaseFirePA ranks right up there with the KKK in its efforts to help out oppressed minorities.
BTW, is CeaseFirePA still being run by that joke of a man from NJ? As though PA has something to learn about effective crime control from "Mafia World"?Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Re: CeaseFirePA Announces its Mayoral Recommendations
The striking thing about that list is the high number of incumbent candidates. I had no idea that so many mayors of more conservative areas of PA (outside of Philadelphia) were so terrible. As far as I am concerned, the endorsement might as well have come from the Peoples Republic of China.
