Magnetic Scope Mounts? Crazy you say!

Does anyone know where to buy magnetic scope mounts? I've done some research and at one time they actually existed. I can certainly think of some drawbacks, yet I have some old lever actions and do not want to drill and tap them as this will affect their value, etc.

The lever actions have a flat top receiver which makes them a good candidate for magnetic mounts. Sounds crazy I know, yet I would try them if I could find them at any reasonable price.

I've never heard of such a thing. I don't know if I would trust it on a long range tack driver, but might be alright for shorter distances. Not sure how good they would be at maintaining any kind of accuracy but may be worth a try if the price is right. (and the magnets are strong enough to hold position against being bumped around a bit)

I have been looking @ a lot of optic pages and I think Burris has them, Ithink, I know some one does and I know I saw them for shotguns.

N/A for centerfire high power. Scope, ring, & base mass too much to hold under recoil.

Will work with Rimfire, but cost to mass produce vs. market not there.

Was/is available for shotguns by Hi Viz for years. They work very well.
