Tapco muzzle break wont fit my GP 1975 AK47

Hey not really sure if this is the correct forum, so please move if its not

Ive had a Century Arms GP 1975 for a while now, decided to get the tapco intrafuse muzzle break fromhttp://www.amazon.com/Tapco-Ak-Slot-...7360536&sr=1-1 to help reduce muzzle climb

Its way too tight, I could get maybe 1 full rotation onto the barrel before it was too tight, and that was using a shirt for grip... my factory muzzle slant has a little tightness, but nothing like this...

Can anyone help? Or reccomend what to do?

From what ive read, the GP 1975 is a WASR 10/63 variant, I have tried looking up the barrel thread specs using google and no luck on finding it out...

From Cheaper than dirt, the specs on the muzzle break are 14 x 1 Left Hand Thread... which reviews from both amazon and CTD everybody says they work fine on WASR variants...

Im still a newer gun owner, and this is my first and only AK, so i dont know a whole lot, but try to learn all I can

Were any Of the threads on the barrel or buzzle break nicked or damaged at al during installation or from removing the old one?

Nope, while trying to fit the new one on, i put the factory slant on and off easily a few times... the new one starts to screw in, but gets super tight and stops...

i can remove/put on the factory with using 2 fingers and my thumb, but the other one to get 1 whole turn requires my whole hand to do so

It's a thread prolem I'll bet, same as my WASR.

You have 2 choices:

1. grab pliers and crank. It'll go on but there will be nicks on the brake. I don't really recommend this.

2. give to gunsmith to straigten out.

The threads aren't the best on these things but it's nothing a little elbow grease or a couple of bucks won't fix.

Know any gun shops/smiths within 40 minutes of harrisburg who would be able to fit this on in a reasonable time/cost?
