Default Texas killer release on bond to Kill Again

A Texas man who confessed to killing his girlfriend has been arrested for murdering his aunt and almost shooting dead his cousin while out on bail for the first crime.

Dante Thomas, 20, of Houston, Texas, confessed to stabbing his girlfriend Linda Vu to death in front of her two children, and was released on $50,000 bail on January 31.

Then on Thursday he was arrested again, with a murder charge now pending in the shooting death of his aunt , 68-year-old Charlotte Ellis, who was found dead in her truck at the Willowbrook Mall on Wednesday evening.

His bond has now been revoked, and the District Attorney explained that $50,000 is the standard bail for any murder suspect with no past record.

The D/A justifies his release as being normal, WTF Yep, We gun owners are the threat to our civilized society.

Yeah, but, we look to Texas as the standard for the death penalty because they actually execute their death row prisoners.

Texas is probably much like PA. YA got Houston and Austin and then Texas.

Kinda like Philly, the Burgh and PA

Wow! Currently I have a kid, a college student, out on bail for $150,000 for being involved in selling weed. Another out on $50,000 for breaking into a dorm room and stealing a backpack. Lycoming County just had a guy out on $250,000 UNSECURED bail for Attempted Murder. He threatened to kill a witness and he is back in.

$50,000 for Murder is normal in TX? In many instances in PA, it would be no bail.

    Be safe (and carry cash).

If he confessed it should be case closed. If he contends the confession was coerced then I say it is the one of the prices we pay for being a "free" society. Inocent untill being proven guilty.

Surely someone here will come to his defense.
Or at least propose that regardless of his crime(s) and time sentenced, that once he's released and has "paid his debt", he should have his rights restored.

Oh and we can't kill him - there's always a chance that he is innocent.

I agree with you that a free society has it's cost, but I would think or should i say hope that they had sufficient evidence in order to charge him, What gets me is the nonchalantness of the D/A

I don't understand a broad brush approach on murder.. wonder if it was a cop, .gov official or a family member of someone in the system they would be so nonchalant..

I tend to see things in a slightly more extreme light than most.

I'll defend him. Word is that he ate vegan food one time and went nutz.

    It's not his fault...
