Are the anti's this extreme?
I was thinking today after all the recent shootings. You hear about these kids on college campuses that bought a gun and had a squeeky clean record. There was no reason not to sell them a gun, and then they go shoot up a school for no apparent reason. I wonder how many of these shootings were done by people who hard core anti's to try and prove a point, to push the cause forward if you will. They know that the Brady Bunch will jump right on it and push for more gun control... what do you guys think? Is it some looney anti making an extreme point, or are these guys really just messed up in the head and really could care less about gun politics?

Re: Are the anti's this extreme?
I think your scenario, though not impossible, is improbable.
A gun is chosen for its psychological affect.
It is loud and draws lots of attention.
It is less personal than a knife or strangulation. It requires less skill (the other methods require planning and isolating your victims and requires strength).
My 2 cents. IANAP (IamNot a Psychologist!)

I think that might be a bit of a stretch.

Re: Are the anti's this extreme?
Although the anti's can seem to be a bit crazy at times, I really don't believe that they are insane. Basically when someone takes a gun and starts shooting up a crowd, they aren't doing it to make a statement. (generally, and yes, there are exceptions to this). They usually have just reached some internal breaking point that made them think irrationally for a period of time. Unfortunately during this period of time, they take lives, and destroy futures. And to shoot up a crowd, there has to be a certain amount of insanity floating about. So no, I don't believe that any of these shootings are related to the "anti's".

And if they sacrifice themselves in the process, would they be rewarded in the afterlife with seventy-two Sarah Bradys or Hillary Clintons? Or even Janet Reno, she's the virgin.

Re: Are the anti's this extreme?
Its kind of funny, I was just having this discussion yesterday with a friend. As unlikely as it may be, I wouldn't put it past them.
This is how I look at it.
(tinfoil hats on)
What is the purpose of organisations like the Brady campaign? They want to make this country a safer place (like all of us) But is that their true agenda?
We have undisputed evidence that states with the strictest gun control have the highest crime. We know that country's that completely ban guns, still have crime and shootings. So we can see that banning guns does not solve the problem. Do we really believe that the Brady campaign doesnt know this? So if they know that banning guns does not make the world safer than what would there agenda really be? The one thing that gun bans will truly do is, remove the right of the citizens to take up arms against a tyrannical government. That has to be the Only true agenda. Now I am not saying that every one that supports these groups (I would actually say most) really believe that they will not make the world better, but the people at the top do not have that same agenda (I believe).
So now to make this relevant, If their agenda is to disarm Americans, for the purpose of full control of the people, Than do you really think that they couldn't pervert some young kid in some way as to make him flip out and start shooting up schools and malls? It is the only thing left that would make gun control more popular, Scare the public into thinking that its needed. And getting a army of armed robbers is not as easy as perverting a few people to send out into the world to further their agenda. I would not put anything past an organisation that wants absolute power.
(tinfoil hats off)
Still is unlikely, but not worth counting out.

When you have and excercise your inalienable rights, you are created equal.
If you do not, then you feel like everyone elses target.
