I'm not a bleading heart liberal or anything close, but maybe not shooting the quaren will not piss off some of these guys over there, and maybe that will not cause some of them to want to kill us. Do we really need to shoot a funny looking book that bad?

Sunnis, Shiites, etc commit more than their share of atrocities. Shooting holes in a book is not an atrocity. It's just another excuse to foment violence and hatred. If one of them shot up a Bible no one would care. If this "Sniper" cleaned up after himself at the range, this wouldn't have happened.

As an occupying force I don't expect you to agree with their religion but you should respect their right to religion.

Don't know what the person was thinking but putting holes in the book of their religion was a bad idea. Leaving it to be found was worse. If they (Iraqi's) want to shoot that book that is their right. If it's planted evidence to draw hatred towards us then that would be wrong.

Very hard to bring peace to that country if you don't respect their culture.

Good point. Do what you gotta do, but don't get caught. I disagree about the bible though. You might not care, I might not care, but a lot of people would.
