Default The Senate voted to confirm the nominations

The Senate voted to confirm the nominations of Jane Cutler Greenspan to the state Supreme Court, John Cleland and Robert Freedberg to the Superior Court and Johnny Butler to the Commonwealth Court. The judges are going to serve until 2010, and all four have agreed not to run for a full term after that. The Senate also confirmed Wayne Gardner and Robert Powelson to serve on the Public Utility Commission. Wayne Gardner’s term on the PUC will run through April 1, 2013. Robert Powelson will serve on the PUC through April 1, 2009; completing the term of Terrance Fitzpatrick, who resigned.

Any one know anything about these nominations

    Hon. Jane Cutler Greenspan
Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia

Judge Greenspan has served on the Court of Common Pleas since April, 1987. She received her B.A. from Smith College and her J.D. magna cum laude from Rutger’s University School of Law where she was an editor of the law review. She clerked for the Honorable Robert N. C. Nix, Jr. from 1973 to 1975. She was an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia for more than ten years, serving as Chief of the Domestic Violence Unit from 1978 to 1980 and Chief of Superior Court Appeals from 1980 to 1986. She was an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School from 1989-1994. Judge Greenspan presently serves on the Supreme Court Appellate Procedural Rules Committee and previously served on the Supreme Court Criminal Procedural Rules Committee and the Supreme Court Orphans Court Procedural Rules Committee. She is a Master of the Bench for the University of Pennsylvania American Inn of Court and is currently the Inn’s President. She has also served as a member of various organizations and task forces including the Attorney General’s Family Violence Task Force, Chair of the Criminal Justice Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and a member of the Education Committee of the State Conference of Trial Judges. Presently she is a member of the Trial Division of the Court where she presides over homicide cases.

Got that from legalspan.com. She was the only one that I found an unbiased source for, good luck finding out about the rest. All I can say is that it looks like we have a Dem from Philly on our supreme court for a few years, lets hope no important cases go that far
