Cool glock 19 vs glock 26

Any recommendations on which version for concealed carry? I am leaning toward the glock 26. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have both a 26 and a 19. I got the 26 initially for concealed carry and soon after switched to the 19. It looks bigger, but it doesn't carry like it's bigger. You get more capacity, a full grip and a longer sight radius.

I find many people who put pinky rests on their g26 magazines, which makes the grip about as long as the 19 anyway.

    Agree.

The G26 isn't "smaller enough" to outweigh the trade offs in capacity, grip and sight radius that Marc has cited.

    G19.

G26 is neither fish nor fowl, IMO. It's not small enough to be a true pocket carry gun. And once the gun is big enough to require belt holster carry, there's not that much difference in concealment.

The hardest part of a gun to conceal (usually) is the grip, and the G26 will have the advantage here by about a 1/2 inch or so. And that is with the standard flat baseplate of the G26. If you like the extensions on the magazines, you end up at just about the same height of the G19.

So the G26 will be a little easier to conceal, but the G19 won't be that much worse, and as mentioned gives you extra capacity and a longer sight radius. You'll need to determine what is more important.

I had this same question when I went and bought my G19. They also had a G26 for the same price. After some research, I arrived at what the previous posters all said. Not much difference in size. I chose the 19 figuring that it would be more comfortable to shoot and that I would want to practice much with it.

I'd go with the SIG 239. OOPS sorry wrong thread.

I have both a 19 and a 26. I prefer to carry the 26. Although the grip is almost as long with a pinky extension, the barrel is shorter, and it's a little lighter (with a bad back, every ounce helps). The previous posters are correct though, there really isn't a big enough difference between the two to spend a lot of time debating over it.

That's what I like about this board, you and I can disagree about something and still share a joke.
