Funny OC Experience at Lowes in Latrobe

I just got back from the Lowes in Latrobe. While there I was OCing my 1911. I met my father-in-law there to pick up a wood stove for my house. An associate comes up to help us out and as she's telling us about the particular model stove, she stops mid sentence and cranes her neck almost 90-degrees to the side. It's pretty obvious she's looking at my gun. I think to myself "crap...here we go". She straightens up and stares directly at me. Thinking that I'd better say something before she screams, I look her in the eyes and say "Don't worry, it's legal".

She replies "I know, I just don't like the grips."



I was so taken aback I didn't know what to say.
"B-b-b-but those are real rosewood grips. They're very comfortable" was all I could muster.

I later explained to her that I'm not used to people staring at my gun and then following it up with a statement that doesn't involve the phrase "you aren't allowed to..." She was understanding and informed me that her husband OC's. Boy...what a relief.
