Old Marlin Glenfield Model 60
So i just picked up the .22 that was in my moms attic for as long as i can remember, was my dads but he thinks its junk and won't work (safely). The gun looks in good shape, i cleaned the barrel and will probably disassemble and clean all the parts but i wanted some advice on what to watch out for in case its not in as good shape as it appears.
Not sure what year it is but probably 1980-86, last fired 15-20 years ago, and my dad says he does not think it was cleaned after it was last fired. no signs of rust.

Check out the recoil buffer before use on an old 60. If its broke or warn you'll beat the hell out of the receiver and the bolt.

Re: Old Marlin Glenfield Model 60
I have two Marlin Mod. 60s, one from the early 80s (my first gun, dad gave it to me), the other from the 70s (my dad's rifle). Great rifles, lots of fun, and you're in for a fun time when you break it down and rebuild it. Have patience.
