    Default C&R FFL License

Just got my forms in the mail. Anybody else have a C&R? Is it worth the effort?

Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.

I have mine...it's nice because you can have the weapons shipped directly to your home. Plus, if you buy a C&R eligible weapon at a gun show, if you show them a copy of your license, they will waive the PICS.

I've had mine for over a year. Bought a German K98k, Enfield No4 MkI, Swiss K-31 and a Russian MN 91/30.

That depends on you. If you plan on collecting military surplus and other recognized collectible firearms, yes. It will shorten the logistical chain between the seller and you considerably, More to the point, the guns can be shipped directly to you. Two or three transactions will pay for the license in transaction costs alone. The criteria for C&R eligble guns is fairly broad, 50 years old or guns of conspicuous notoriety (BATFE criteria). There's a partial list on BATFEs web site.

If you have visions of Springfield M1As, Glocks and Kimbers dancing through your head, it won't do you much good.
