M&P 15
Does anyone know a manufacturer who sells a suppressor for this gun? I've tried google and couldn't come up with anything viable.
Thanks
-edit sorry smith and wesson m&p 15, or a stag arms m-4 style gun, do they all accept the same suppressor? I was reading that a post ban gun can only have two configurations involving nfa things, such as a short barrel and a can, or a short barrel and suppressor, is that true?Last edited by SuperMoose; December 28th, 2006 at 11:12 AM.

I think he's talking about the S&W M&P 15, but clarification would be nice
here's some Surefire models:

Aubie, has done some "Suppressing" lately and can probably be of assistance.Last edited by jdlv4_0; December 28th, 2006 at 11:12 AM.

Re: &P 15
The guys on ARF like the YHM suppressors. I talked to Henry Smith about the YHM suppressors and he didn't like them. He said they use steel, which would rust. YHM has a lifetime warranty, so it looks like a good deal. The Surefire suppressors are getting good reviews too, but they are pricey.
Any suppressor for 5.56 will work. You will just need to make sure that your AR barrel is threaded.

Re: M&P 15
My suppressor is a Mark White, by SoundTech, m6-223, 6" tactical thread on.
its made of steel.
Mount is tool steel, tube and baffles are alloy steel.
yes, it can rust, like any can made of steel, like Knights Armament.
this is why you spray it down after shooting, and also REMOVE it from the firearm, so no condensation is attracted to the bore either.
steel is fine, frankly, i wouldn't trust a can not made of steel....remember, they have been using steel for cans since cans inception, designs change, but the building material is fine.
Some use other materials, like inconnel, and titanium, etc, but thats just in the past few years.
Aluminum is good for subguns (pistol) calibers and 22s pretty much."Oderint Dum Metuant" - BMFH
