Found a new Camo stock bull barrel .308 Remington 700 for $450 otd. Good price?

Just as the title says, found a local shop trying to dump all the tactical looking guns. They have a mossy oak Remington 700 bull barrel in .308 for $450 otd. I don't have a .308 bolt action and have always wanted a 700 series due to the aftermarket support. Is this a good deal? I have the feeling it is but wanted you guys to confirm it.

Tomorrow is my birthday and I suppose I could treat myself.

Yeah, it is. My LGS was selling new base model Rem. 700s for $500+ 3 years ago (pre-tax and PICS). That's without the bull barrel or camo stock too. I'd jump on it.

If you don't buy it I will. I love Rem 700's and will gladly add a 308 to my collection. Thread the barrel and have fun.

I would imagine that this is the docks black Friday special. It ifs probably the varmint 7 0 0. Black Friday they were selling them for 350.00.

^might be a varmint. What's the difference. I have it on a 48 hour hold to think about it. Is the varmint a good deal at $450?

They had 3 in stock. I'll let you guys know hat I come out with.

This is my rem 700 varmint in 223 I got at dicks black friday It shoots .75" groups at 100yd using american eagle cheap ammo out of the box. But the stock is kinda cheap feeling and the action feels realy "gritty" compared to my winchester mod 70.

That's The one. Same camo pattern but in .308. Looking to upgrade from my savage axis .223.

I almost got the 308 cause they said they were out of 223 but I took the display which was 223. Id keep the 223 if I were you and add the 308 to the collection
