    Default Another Temple Incident

In Center City, though. I get an e-mail today about what happened and what they suggest the 'Temple Community' do.

Philadelphia Police are investigating two separate incidents in Center City, one involving a Temple student.

The first incident occurred on August 30 around 10:30 p.m. near 21st and Locust Streets. A 21-year-old woman was about to enter her apartment building and was attacked by an unknown man. After a struggle, the perpetrator fled the scene.

The second incident reportedly occurred at 7:20 p.m. on Sept. 1 at 16th and Market, near the Temple University Center City Campus. A Temple student reports being approached by a male asking for assistance with a child seat in his car. The male pushed her into the vehicle and drove off.

The student managed to flee from the vehicle after traveling 2 blocks. She was not harmed.

City Police have not determined whether the incidents are related.
In light of the recent incidents, we would like to remind everyone in the Temple community to:

    1. Be aware of your surroundings at all times. Do not use distracting devices like cell phones and iPods, especially while traveling alone.

    2. Do not engage, or become engaged, in conversations with strangers.

    3. Do not approach or get in a stranger’s vehicle.

    4. If you are uncertain of your safety or surroundings, contact the Temple police immediately by dialing 1-1234 from a campus phone or 215-204-1234 from a non-campus phone, or dial 911.

The safety of our students, staff and faculty is our number one priority. We will continue to keep you informed and share useful prevention information. If you would like any additional information regarding Campus Safety Services, please visit our web site http://css.ocis.temple.edu.
What...nothing about making sure that everyone who wants to is able to defend themselves? Naaahhh...that's too perverse...makes no sense.

Basically, they are telling people to just use common sense. Something alot of people seem to lack nowadays.

    5. Obtain your LTCF, take a gun-safety class, purchase a gun, and properly defend yourself against the next attacker.
