Default AR front swivel stupid question for today

If I see it right, the AR front swivel is riveted on, which sounds permanent. Are there any front swivel options I should know about before I rivet one to my carbine?
    I vote the second first

My FF tube had a piece that screwed into it that was like 7 bucks so the sling wouldn't tension the barrel while stabilizing it.

Of course this would only help you if you were using a YHM FF tube.
