Five students were shot, one of whom has died, at an off campus party, Saturday Sept. 25, 2010 in East Orange, NJ.

Unhappy Re: Seton Hall gunplay, again

    Unpossible.

NJ has very strict gun control laws.

So this is how liberty dies...with thunderous applause.

Absolutely terrible. To make it worse, none of the students even had the ability to legally defend themselves because of the joke of a state they are in. I guess the shooter didn't get the memo. If NJ laws weren't so ridiculous, maybe instead of a college student being killed it would have been that scumbag. Again, this is just horrible.

My son and his fiancee both graduated from SHU a few years back. I'm glad they're both out of there. Very sad.

I attended SH for 3 years until I ran outta funds, then transferred to RU (Rutgers University).

The area surrounding SH is a combat zone, especially if you turn right when exiting the main entrance guard station, where you enter a government assistance heavy area. The nearby park always had stabbings, muggings and shootings (this is back in 89-92). The conflict at the time was the influx of South American hispanics moving in and forcing the predominantly black population out.

Turn left and you get closer to a nicer area of South Orange, more affluent, heavily Jewish close to Short Hills Mall.

I used to live in Newark NJ until my family got us out to a way nicer area of NJ.

and on the other hand, here we see what happens when thugs try to rob college parties in states that allow people to actually defend themselves:

    http://www.wsbtv.com/news/19365762/detail.html

A group of college students said they are lucky to be alive and they’re thanking the quick-thinking of one of their own. Police said a fellow student shot and killed one of two masked men who burst into an apartment...
    Let them take arms
