Default Self Defense Shooting Aftermath Questions

I have a few questions and I hope I never ever have to put this into play, however, I still have the questions.

So, someone crossed the threshold in my house and came at me with a gun, I shoot him or her. Now what? I'm being serious.

Everything I read says something like this:

    1. Call 911, give name, location, your description, ask for an ambulance. Don't say anything else and then hang up.

    2. Clear your weapon and safely place it somewhere or holster it. Do not have it in your hand.

    3. Call your lawyer and explain situation.

    4. When police arrive, what now? What do I volunteer? What do and don't I say?

    5. What happens next?

Are these in the correct order?

    Thanks!

#1 Ensure you were in fear that your life was on the line or that of your family members or that you would receive an injury so significant that it would be classified as grave bodily injury or severe bodily injury, depending on state.

#2 Call attorney and let him/her notify officials

To get yourself as far away from questioning police; simply tell the police you require medical attention.
AND THEN SHUTUP. Do NOT say another word.
Except maybe to say you're not saying anything without your lawyer present.

That's what I've always been instructed by lawyers.

Not saying anything or what they call pleading the fifth is what IS expected and should happen. First reason I will give you is.

You will be in shock, in most cases, you might even need to go change pants. Call a lawyer, stay put and wait for HIS / HER instructions

I think Massad Ayoob has it right. First, you tell the police that you were threatened or attacked and had to defend yourself. That helps to rightfully steer the narrative your way. Next, you identify any evidence and witnesses at the scene, so they're not lost. Finally, you tell them that you'll answer all of their questions after you speak with your attorney, and then STFU.

Our local DA was on the news saying you should tell the cops and detectives the truth. That they aren't there to put you in jail.
You ask about agitating the officers. Would you rather they be mad at you or in your adrenaline dumping, possibly in shock state say something you don't actually mean or worded badly or can be taken different ways?

You feared for your life, you cant talk now. Lawyer up.

#1 - add, that you were assaulted, its critically important to establish that you were a victim since the very beginning.

#4 - as it was said before, taking 5th will look suspicious and might actually work against you in current political/juidicial climate. But when you'll say you were shaken, can't talk and need some time to yourself (while waiting for your lawyer) you wont even be lying.

I understand a lot better now. I'll watch that video as well.

So, call 911 or call my lawyer 1st? Critical piece of info.
